The two captains Azhar Ali and Angelo Mathews said at the post match presentation:-
Azhar: ‘It’s a wonderful performance. It was a great team effort, everyone played well. Yesterday, we spoke about that he (Sarfraz Ahmed) can bat at number 4. He batted really well, played his natural game and that made the difference in the end. The big positive from the loss in the last game was the fight we showed. We need to keep moving forward. We have two good all-rounders. Every batter and bowler chipped in today, everyone was on top of their game, everyone is giving their hundred percent. Both Rizwan and Anwar Ali have been brilliant in the field, they have been taking some extraordinary catches as well. Hopefully, we can continue like this.’
Mathews: ‘Pretty disappointed with the way it went for us. They probably outplayed us in all three facets of the game. It turned a lot more in the second innings as well. We need to improve a lot more in all three departments. We need to beat them in the next game to stay alive in the series. The wicket was a batting paradise in the first half. The bowlers couldn’t have done much, we thought they will post around 350, but we kept them down to 316. We need to beat them in the next game, but you can’t make too many changes either
