Pakistani All Rounder Shoaib Malik was added as the 16th member in the Pakistani squad for the upcoming test series against England at UAE as England is touring pakistan for a three match test series which will take place in UAE.
Shoaib Malik has given a chance to prove himself and get his spot back his spot back in test cricket, he had got this chance due to some of his consistent performance for the national side in the limited over format. If selected in the playing 11 he will make a comeback to the national test side after 5 years.
Shoaib Malik played his last test for Pakistan in 2010 against England only but in Birmingham, England and from then was unable to make a comeback in the national side thereafter.
Malik add to the experience as he has loads of experience on his back and also adds to the extra spin option and will work as an all rounder for the Pakistani Cricket Team. He is currently in supreme form which his stats shows clearly as he has an average of around 100 in his past 11 ODI’s in 2015. The first test of the three match test series against England starts on October 13.
“Following Intikhab Alam’s request, I spoke with my fellow selectors and there was unanimity over retaining Malik keeping in mind his current batting form and the off-spin bowling option that could be handy in the all-important forthcoming Test series against England,” said Rashid on the Inclusion of Shoaib after the list of 15 members was announced.
