T20 World Cup 2016 Scotland vs Zimbabwe Match Highlights: The stage is ready for the 5th qualifier match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2016. The match is between Scotland and Zimbabwe at flat pitch of Nagpur. This will be the 2nd match for both these teams.
Scotland: After losing their opening match against Afghanistan, they will be looking for some desperate win, if they have to make any place in Super 10 of the ICC World T20. They do impress everyone with their batting scoring 10 runs/over in first 8 overs. Unfortunately, they middle order collapse and lose the game against Afghanistan.
The problem with their first match was their bowling. Each bowler had an economy around 10. Therefore, they just gave too many extra runs on the board. Scotland will have to deceive Zimbabwe at score below 140-150, in order to have any chance winning the second match.
Zimbabwe: After winning the first match, Zimbabweans will surely be looking for a second win to advance into the super 10 of the ICC World T20. Even though, the first match didn’t go exactly to want Zimbabweans wanted, ending a narrow victory of just 14 runs for Zimbabwe.
This match would definitely warned them, to fight hard with less experience teams – as every teams wants to make their place into the Super 10.
Toss – Zimbabwe won the toss, and opted to bat first
1st Innings – At flat pitch of Nagpur, the par score for any team is around 160-170. After winning the toss, Zimbabwe started the innings losing two quick wicket at 20 runs. And, kept on losing wickets at regular interval.
The Zimbabwean innings was stabilize by Sean Williams with 53 runs in 36 balls (6 fours). Pretty much, the only player to score some significant in the innings. His contribution helped Zimbabwe to reach a score of 147/7 in 20 overs.
2nd Innings – After having a prominent total to chase, Scotland innings just collapsed with losing 4 wicket for first 20 runs. The Zimbabwean Wellington Masakadza took 4 wickets for just 28 runs. The captain Mommsen and Davey tried to stabilize their innings, but it was too late to Scotland to react at that position. They were bowled out at 136 at 19.4 overs.
So, Zimbabwe won the match by 11 runs.
