West Indies Captain and fast bowler Jaison Holder however didn’t say anything about the statement of Phil Simonns but is hopping for a Swifter relation between the Board and Simmons. He also Added that he had been a “wonderful inspiration” for him during the time he was incharge.
Phil Simmon is suspended from the post of head coach by the Board, however Simmons has appologised for his statement but is still ofended and asked to answer for “breaches of confidentiality” by West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
“The comments made by Phil were by Phil, and I can’t comment on those things, It’s down to him and the board. We can only control the cricket because that’s what we came here to do. Whatever his situation, his fate lies with him and the board. Hopefully he can deal with that and be back to us as soon as possible.” said Jason.
However his suspension is also not at a good time for West Indies as they are touring Sri Lanka in less than 3 weeks, Holder aslo said on this as he will be touring for the first time as a test captain for West Indies.
“No doubt Simmons’ suspension is a bit of setback for us, but at this present stage, all we can do is focus on the cricket. I just hope that the situation with him is solved quickly because we would love to have him back. He’s been a wonderful inspiration to our team thus far.”
