Toss – India won the toss, and opted to bat first.
1st Innings – After India opting to bat first, the Indian preceding were started by as usual Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan for the 1st warm-up match of World T20 2016. India started a quick-fire start to their innings with Shikhar Dhawan taking charge. India loss their 1st wicket of Dhawan in the 5th over. At the end of a powerplay, India’s score was 41/1.
It was all Rohit Sharma then, he’s formed continued as he went on to score a half-century at a strike rate of 145. As Ajinkya failed, Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj made a partnership 89 runs to make a comfortable score of 145 in 15 overs. As Yuvraj Singh departed, Sharma carried his innings to 98* runs in 57 balls (9 fours, 7 sixes) helping India to reach a total of 185/6. Unfortunately, Rohit Sharma didn’t make his century.
2nd Innings – The innings started, as we expected from the West Indies to be. Charles take down Ashwin, the very first over for 2 big sixes. They scored 35/0 in just 3 overs. Bumrah and Shami’s over changed the course of the match, taking the main man Gayle and Charles. The strike rate from 11/over slowed down to 7 per over. Wickets kept on stumbling, and West Indies were bowled out for 140/10 in 19.2 overs.
India won the match by 45 runs by bowling out West Indies at 145/10 in 19.2 overs.
