It was an Equal day for both the host and the visitors as Bangladesh scored 246 runs at the loss of 8 wickets. The hosts Bangladesh batting first managed a total of 246 with the likes of captain and wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim’s innings of 65 runs of 125 balls. Mominul Haque was the second highest run getter as he scored 40 runs from 87 balls while both Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan made 35 runs each from 91 and 65 balls. South African pace Spearhead Dale Steyn and Spinner Jean-Paul Duminy both got 3 wickets each from there 16.1 and 15 overs while giving away 30 and 27 runs. Both Dale Steyn and Jean-Paul Duminy bowled well as they bowled 4 maiden overs each and keeping pressure on the Bangladeshi batsman and getting wickets as reward for there tremendous bowling performance. Pace bowler Morne Morkel and part time bowler Dean Elgar got 1 wickets each.
Earlier in the morning Bangladeshi captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh didn’t got a good start as they lost the early wicket of Tamim Iqubal when he was batting at 6 from 15 balls. It will be a great contest on day two as the South african side will be keen to wrap up the Bangladeshi innings while Bangladesh will also look to have some quick runs which can extend its lead.
