The Day 3 of the second test match between the hosts Australia and the visitors New Zealand was in complete control of the home team a they now lead by 503 runs in the first test.
After imposing a huge first innings total of 556 hey restricted the visitors to a total of 317 and took a first innings lead of 239 runs and decided not to impose a follow on on the visitors. they bowled out the visitors in just 82 overs while New Zealand’s Star Batsman Kane Williamson was the alone fighter as he made a total of 140 runs from 178 balls which includes 24 fours.

Batting in the second innings Australia went on to right from the beginning of the innings as Opener Joe Burns and David Warner stitched a 237 runs opening stand between them where both the batsman went on to make centuries. Young Batsman Joe Burns made 129 runs from 123 balls and made his maiden ODI hundred in test matches for Australia While his Opening partner David Warner made his second consecutive hundred in the test match.
Australia bowled very well right from the morning as Mitchell starc took 4 while Mitchell Johnson took 3 wickets in the innings While Hazelwood, Lyon and Marsh took a wicket Each.
From the part of Zimbabwe Bowling Mark Craig got 3 wickets and was able to break the partnership of the 2 openers and also got the wicket of both and also of all rounder Mitchell Marsh.

Australia at the end of day 3 lead by 503 runs and it will be interesting to see when will captain steven smith decide to declare the innings so that that he can give a chance to the bowlers to bowl them out.
